Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy111!!!!!!111!!!one!!!!!!11one!!!!!!!!! exclamation mark1111!!!!!

My first big sculpting success! I LOVE! this critter! Inspired by :icondragonsandbeasties: Magma Dragon--> fav.me/d6ovfqb

Of course mine isn't as professional looking as hers(she spent way longer on her version) But any-who im really happy with the way he turned out. I had a lot of close calls when sculpting him though. I used mostly aquarium rocks for the lava rocks on his body, but that made him want to break apart. He would start to come apart at the waist, and his hind legs would too. But i said FTy*^%&&!! NO! and worked hard to repair and push him back together. I worked to hard on him, and i was determined to make sure hi turned out good. I continued the rest of the rock pattern using clay instead, and i took a rock and pressed it against the clay ones, to get the same texture. And i partially baked him to make him hold together wile i finished the rest of him. I was afraid the cheaper clay would get over cooked and brittle(as it cooks faster than premo clay) But the cooking turned out just right.

For the orange body, i used sculpy extreme clay 'Glow Orange' and the black parts that are clay, i used premo sculpy clay. Next time i use rocks though, i will only use a few.

I think i spent about 10-15? hrs sculpting him.

Baking time...errr.....about 20mins on 250.....in my toaster oven.(that's all i got to work with)

Since the aquarium stones were already kind of shiny, i went ahead and used the semi-gloss on him.

Now i think i will work on making a bunch of little ones to sell....like this guy---> fav.me/d6qxjkk
But i'll make sure the ones i sell are cooked right.
